Krave It Pizza & Sandwich Joint
Last Saturday, I stopped by Krave It Pizza and Sandwich Joint in Huntington, NY. This place serves creative sandwiches and pizza slices, some unique that you haven’t heard of before probably. If you watch a lot of food/pizza content on social media, you’ve probably seen Ted’s ZaZa, where he makes unique pizza flavor combinations. Krave-IT reminds me of that.
Like this one here- called the Sweet Devil Slice. This was an amazing slice of pizza and I’m happy I got the last slice. The cheese and jalapeno combination made me feel like I was eating a cheese steak-esque pizza, with some white cheese blend of probably provolone and a mild cheddar. The combination of the honey sriracha sauce and ranch goes really well with the cheese. There’s a subtle amount of heat and sweet going on, which pairs really well with the chicken too. I also love the thin slices of jalapeno to add on that heat, but with the honey sriracha sauce they taste almost candied.
Not pictured was the Desi Boy slice. I messed up again- (Gotta stop eating before I take a picture lol). This one was good, it’s basically h Chicken Tikka Masala was on a pizza, but with cheese. I loved the tikka masala flavor a lot. There’s more heat compared to the Sweet Devil Slice, but it kind of mellows out the more you eat it.
They had unique items like a huge garlic knot sando which I saw someone get. For reference, imagine you got a giant garlic knot as big as 4-6 Hawaiian sweet rolls, but a bit taller and stuffed with chicken cheese and sauce.
Check out Krave-It when you can, they have late hours, open until 12 on most days except Thursday(open till 2am), and Friday and Saturday they are open until 4:00am. They also have locations in Queens and Brooklyn.

Mango Mango
I had a nice sweet treat with Mango Sticky Rice for the first time at Mango Mango, which is across the street from Krave. As an avid mango lover I’m sad to say that I’ve waited so long to try it, but it was worth it.
The rice itself was good, not sweet since a lot of the other elements make up for that. The sweet coconut milk and mango itself makes up for it, It’s also served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of a bed of cubed mango. I wasn’t a huge fan of the mango with the ice cream, as it didn’t feel as ripe or sweet. I wish the ice cream flavor was different, preferably something like Mango as it’d make a better combination than regular Vanilla which I feel is a bit overpowering here. Overall not a bad place and very aesthetic desserts.

Umi Hot Pot Sushi and Seafood Buffet
I didn’t realize that this place has a couple of locations across the east coast, but this one opened up recently in Ronkonkoma over the summer so I decided to try it out. It’s a huge buffet with a lot of Sushi options, seafood, and a lot of Asian/Asian inspired dishes. They also have a kind of ramen/hibachi thing going on for custom orders where you build your own bowl. Their hot pot section is decent, and you can grab any meat or side you want from their hot pot fridge.
I don’t eat a lot of buffets but since I was at this one I opted for the sushi and hot pot experience, and I am a bit disappointed. I found the typical sushi/sashimi options not the best tasting, such as salmon or tuna nigiri. I’m not expecting it to be super fresh or made to order compared to an actual sushi restaurant, but it still tasted okay at best. (which I can assume would happen if they’re just sitting out in the air at a time resting on ice.I also wouldn’t recommend any special rolls especially with any crunch, such as shrimp tempura since it’s effectively mush after sitting for a while.

The hot pot wasn’t anything special either. When you get a hot pot option, you kinda get this mini pot for one that’s lit by a sternos or something. It has a very smoky smell when lit which I didn’t like. It does not boil much at first and takes a while to get going, but once it does it rapidly boils and it loses most of its liquid fast. I’m not sure if you get refills for it either since I only got the pot once.

I appreciate the variety but I can’t say I’d go back or recommend it. I’d much rather go tto an actual hot pot or hot pot kbbq restaurant like JBBQ Shabu Shabu in Smithtown or K-Pot in Westbury or Bayshore, or somewhere like Ichi Sushi and Ramen in Stony Brook.
