(Notice: This is a review that I written previously around last year, but did not post it. Enjoy!)
I had the opportunity to visit Hojokban to celebrate a birthday. It wasn’t my birthday at the time but eating food this good it damn near felt like it. Below are some things I ate, as it was a very brief dinner with special people.
Honey Fried Chicken- Crispy, not too spicy but overall flavorful and a small bit sweet.. I loved the addition of the pumpkin seeds for a nice crunch.

Porkbelly- Soy Glazed Bossam. This was presented beautifully and it tasted beautifully as well. I loved the option to have each pork belly piece individually with the soy garlic sauce, or combine it with some of the cabbage or chive slaw in the middle.
Fried Rice- Galbi Rice Bowl. This was just an amazing rice bowl. The combination of meat, rice and aromatics with the onions and garlic with the rice soaking up all the egg and meat flavor was just insane. Definitely worth it.

Also not pictured(at least fully, it’s in the first image with the pork but I didn’t grab a good picture cause I and my table ate it) the truffle potato pancake- very crispy, loved the flavor, especially the sauce that it came with it.
If you want a unique twist on Korean food that features well known Korean staples and combines them with modern or fusion-esque takes, give Hojokban a visit when you’re hungry. You won’t regret it.
